Import problem - corrupt memory card?

Hello, I have just imported a batch of RAW files into LR (5.7.1) and when I view them in the library I am getting mostly corrupt images, see the attached screen grab.

Is it as straightforward as a corrupt memory card or is it something more sinister?

Any suggestions are gratefully received. Thanks.

This is a telltale sign of hardware failure.  It could be the memory card, the card reader, the reader cable or the USB port.  You need to try different ways to download these files using a different card reader/cable, different USB port or a different computer using the Explorer/Finder to isolate the problem.
