LR won't import Raw Files any more. Only recognizes jpeg. I am working on a different laptop that usually.

The A9 requires LR CC 2015.10.1 or LR 6.10.1 (or later). You need to update your LR CC.

Also, Let us know the version of Lightroom and camera make and model you are using now so that we can tell the exact Lightroom you need to open the raw files.

LR Cc 2015. It says first: Can't read preview, then, after import: Can't read Raw file. Camera: sony A9. It does import the Raw files from my othervSony camera! And it did import all on my other laptop. This laptop is a Surface 4.

Explain exactly what happens. If there is an error message, please quote the exact unedited word-for-word error message. Show us a screen capture.

Also state your version NUMBER of Lightroom (I don't want words like "up-to-date", I want the number)

Check the version of LR installed on that different notebook. Probably it isn't up to date and doesn't see and can't import the raw images from the camera you are using.
