Imported RAW files from EOS R6 have always lens correction enabled

Hello,

first of all I would like to express my disappointment. It is hard to accept that this problem has not been solved for almost a year now and that the support team knows nothing about it.

The ticket from last year should have all the relevant information: ADB-21068486-T8J4

And this is the current one: ADB-24183684-W9C2

Here is a summary of the phenomenon:

Relevant LR version since March 2021 until today (11.3).

It affects files of the Canon EOS R6 and possibly also R5.
Files in the LR database imported after March 2021 always have lens corrections enabled (CA and profiles). Although this has not been set anywhere. Files that were previously in the catalogue do not have lens corrections enabled. But if you reset these "older" photos, the lens corrections are now also activated for them. Files from an EOS 1Dx, 5DII, III, IV do not do this and LR behaves as it should.

The following tests have already been done:
- Created a new Windows10 profile and created a new LR catalogue.
- used another Windows10 PC
- Resetting LR settings
- Lens corrections in camera activated and deactivated

Please see the 3rd screen shot. There are no profiles set. Something has changed in LR version since March 2021.

Yes, look at that screenshot. I'm not talking about profiles. I am talking about the preset you chose as camera default. Create a new preset that does not include lens corrections, and set that as your camera default.

Have you solved the problem yet? I just bought a Canon EOS R today

I had the same problem as you, it automatically configured the Lens

This makes me very frustrated because sometimes I want a perspective effect for it, but I asked but no one told me why.

Link to my article, and I have attached my image file in this article

Looking forward to your response

Today I encountered a very strange thing, I opened the .DNG file, and it seems that my .DNG file has "bake" the sidecar setting Lens Correction, when I press the reset button, it automatically has the Lens correction check mark like 1 preset

My other image files are not affected

I encounter this situation from time to time, can someone explain it to me

On my Camera Raw, if I open this file, the same thing happens

I tried pressing "Ctrl + S" on Lightroom but it didn't fix it

Wishing everyone a happy new day

If a setting appears after pressing Reset, that indicates it's set as a raw default, either for all raws globally or for that camera.   Have you explicitly set raw defaults in Preferences > Presets?

OK, I see what you mean. But in the end it's just a workaround. But it helps a little.

The behaviour with R6 files is not standard and more importantly, it has been changed. Because only after March 2021 this strange behaviour occurs.

I would like to know if this behaviour will be handled as an error or if it will stay like this. And if so, why, what is the philosophy behind it?

It delays the workflow and gives the feeling of not being in control.

Greetings,
Ralf

I cannot answer that. I do not work for Adobe. All I can do is give you a solution for the problem you have with it.

"It delays the workflow"

Once you've set a camera default that disables the lens corrections, are there further issues caused with your workflow?

I have notoced the same issue, I too have a R6 and Both the "Remove Chromatic aberration" and "Enable Lens Profile" are checked"  but not for my 7D2 or others cameras also I noticed that shouldnt the +- corner icon for "Photo has Development adjustments" be displayed if this is selected? Only if I deselect and reselect does this icon appear.

Even "Adobe-Standard" does not the trick...already tested all those settings months ago

You have set the camera defaults in the Preferences - Presets to 'Kamera einstellungen'. That probably causes this, because the camera will use lens profiles to correct its images. If you do not want this, then set it to Adobe Defaults or create your own preset and use that one.
