Importer des collections LRC

Bonjour,

The only way to "import" collections is to use File->Import from Another Catalog, in other words, you don't import the collections by themselves, you import a catalog with the collections in it. If necessary, you can just export certain parts (example: you export a collection or two or three) of another catalog and then use that export in File->Import from Another Catalog.

Stating you found a bug in a previous post doesn't help us understand anything, unless you provide a link to your earlier post.

Use the [Export as a Catalog] function selecting Collections-

Unfortunately you cannot select multiple Collections and [R-Click] for a catalog export.  (I thought this was possible! but maybe something has changed)

Only selecting a Collection SET (with contained standard Collections) will give you the [R-Click] > [Export this Collection Set as a Catalog]  {Temporary.LRCAT}

You do not need to 'Export Negative files' as your catalogs reference the same files.

Now close the 'old' catalog and open the 'new' catalog and do [Import from another Catalog] selecting the {Temporary.LRCAT} to merge in the Collections.

The method is described in detail in this link from the Lightroom Queen-

RESTORE PARTIAL from backup catalog?

Well that's the theory anyway-  In my test just now I had selected one Collection SET {Books}, but the transfer catalog included ALL my Sets and Collections, so something weird is happening with this process.

I suggest you experiment with only ONE standard Collection to test the method.

Thank you very much for your diferent answers.

By using  "Import from another catalog" in the file menu, I succeed to recreate my whole former catalog with all the photos and collections OK, as a matter of fact exactly what I wanted to !

@dj_paige, concerning the bug I mentionned, I apologize for the omission of the link.
