There is a solution. In Apple Photos select all images and then use 'Export Unmodified Originals'. Do check the IPTC option. Now you can import these exported photos in Lightroom.

Other ways to import from Apple Photos:

    - Import from Apple Photos into LR Desktop (the cloud version, which is including in your subscription). Then sync from the LR cloud to LR Classic.

    - Use the paid Avalanche program. They recently added support for Apple Photos.  A number of people have reported that Avalanche is far superior than the old, buggy Adobe-supplied plugin for importing from Apple Aperture, but I haven't see any reports yet on using Avalanche with Apple Photos.  They have a free trial, I think.

Thats unfortunately not correct. With the described solution you can import "iPhoto" and "Aperture" Libraries but no "Apple Fotos" Libraries.
