How to post files to Lightroom Classic, edit, and then put the file into the folder. I`ve using Lr 6.14 for a long time and there seems to be a few changes now.

You don't "import and then put it in a folder". You import into the folder you want, in the destination section in the Import dialog.

Your title says "importing" but then you don't talk about importing ...

It sounds like maybe you are not using Lightroom Classic (LrC icon) but the similarly named but different software Lightroom (Lr icon). If you know how to use Lr 6.14, you should have the knowledge to use all (except new features) of LrC.

I'm definitely using Lightroom Classic and according to the agent from Adobe, he explained that I had to create a folder for my import. Like I mentioned, I have years folder's since I am an event photographer.

Although it’s been a while since I used Lightroom 6, I think it more or less works the same way now:

On import, where the photos go depends on how the Import dialog box is set up. You can tell it to put the new photos in an existing folder, or set it up to create new automatically organized folders.

On export, where the exported copies go depends on how the Export dialog box is set up. You can tell it to put the exported copies into an existing folder, or into a new folder that you designate in the Export dialog box.

If there is a difference between how it worked for you in Lightroom 6 and now in Lightroom Classic 12, I think it will have to do with differences in import or export settings. For example, maybe the old settings didn’t carry over. If you make the settings consistent with how they were before, they should once again work as you expect.
