Importing from iPhoto

Hi.  I am trying to import from Photo on a mac, but am getting the message about an update.  I have Photos Version 8.0.  What am I doing wrong?

You can import a Photos library into Lightroom Desktop (cloud), and then sync from Lightroom Cloud into Lightroom Classic .

 

Alternatively, you can use the Avalanche program to import directly from Photos into Lightroom Classic. The advantage is that it will convert Photos edits into LR develop settings; the disadvantage is that it costs money.  Lots of people have reported good results with Avalanche.

Apple Photos is not the same as Apple iPhoto. Lightroom Classic can import an iPhoto library, but not a Photos library.

This document seems to suggest that you can do it via the Aperture import, but I doubt that: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/migrate-photos-aperture.html
