Hi,How do I download images that have already been downloaded once? i deleted them by mistake, I did import them again and the images appeared but when I came to edit the the image could not be found. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can't edit the photos if you have deleted them. So if you go to the image in LrC associated with the deleted photos, then you cannot edit them because Lightroom Classic cannot find them. Lightroom Classic thinks the new imports are brand new photos that it has never seen before, with no edits, and you have to find the brand new photos (that you just imported) in the catalog, you should be able to edit the brand new imports. However .... see next paragraph.
All of this importing is unnecessary. Just copy the photos (using your operating system) to the folder they were in before you deleted them (essentially "un-deleting" these photos), and then LrC is happy and everything should work. You can even delete from LrC the newly imported photos.
