Importing issues with Lightroom

I keep trying to import photos from my hard drive to Lightroom and I'm met with two issues.

Issue 1: When importing, only a third of the selected photos will be imported and the rest will never make it to Lr.

Issue 2: The importing screen freezes and nothing is imported or responsive.

Please help!

Type of computer.

Operating system used on the computer, be specific.

Version of LR, again be specific.

Amount of RAM.

Are you using a card reader or connecting the camera directly to the computer.

What model camera.

Custom Built PC

WIndows 10 64bit version 1607

LR is CC 2015.7

16gb ram, i7 processor 4GHz

The files are already on my hard drive.

Camera is 5D Mkiii

Please post a screen shot of the whole import dialog window.

Are these all RAW files or are some JPGs?

What option have you selected at the top of the import window, Copy, Copy as DNG, Move or Add (You should be selecting Add)?

If some are JPG images there is an option in LR to Treat JPG file next to RAW files as separate images (or something like that). If that option isn't checked LR doesn't display those images.
