Importing photos "add" option no longer displays imported files

When Importing images using the "add" option (files are already on computer HDD), the imported images no longer display automatically upon completion. Im still viewing the previous photos I was working on rather than seeing the new imported photos . I thought there was a check box some where that toggled this behavior on and off, but cant seem to find it, has this been changed?
