Importing ProCamera raw+jpeg files taken by iPhone 7
Hello,
I recently started using the ProCamera app (not ProCam 4) to take raw photos with my iPhone 7. They great on my iphone.
However, when I import the .DNG files using Lightroom 5, the .dng images in the library look nothing like the ones I took on the phone (they are completely bleached out: color, contrast, detail, noise - nothing seems to correspond). (Also, they show up as DNG icons in the import box, so I can't see the image prior to them landing in the library)
If, in ProCamera, I select to shoot .tiff and .jpeg images instead, the images look okay in Lightroom 5 (not great - still not as detailed and the color is off somewhat).
What I've tried:
-During import, I've tried selecting 'copying as .dng' and 'copying' - it makes no difference to the image that shows up in the library.
-Prior to import, in Preferences>General>Import options , when I select treat .jpeg and .dng separately , the .jpeg version of the same image does look better than the .dng . It is almost impossible to edit the .dng so that it looks like the .jpeg.
-In preferences>file handling>compatibility, it makes no discernible difference if I select Camera Raw 6.6 or 7.1
-I just downloaded the Adobe .dng converter but I see the camera compatibility 7.1, the same option that already exists in LR5. Will the download 'DNG Profile editor (sept 2012)' help?
- Also, my monitor (Mac Cinema display) was recently calibrated
Thank you.
