Question

imports get hung up before finishing.

Import photos from one drive to another with a lightroom catalog. Files are copied and sent to new location but progress bar shows an incomplete process (two actually). They get hung up more than ¾ of the way through. I shut LR down and restart. All photos are where I imported them to? LR will not do anything else until I restart. I’m downgrading.

Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I've moved your post out of Lightroom Classic (Bugs) to Lightroom Classic for now. I'll need more information about your workflow to help you. Please share the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Where do you keep the Lightroom Catalog and RAW files? Internal, or external drive? Does it work as expected when you import images from an external drive & change the destination to just the internal drive, or from the internal drive to the destination external drive? Are the external devices plugged directly into your machine or via a USB hub?

If you're on macOS, please try these two sets of steps in the system settings & on the external drive:

    • Ensure Lightroom Classic has the required permissions on the macOS: https://adobe.ly/43zB3AJ

    • Search for Disk Utility from Finder's spotlight search or magnifying glass.

    • Run the 'First Aid' diagnostic on the external drive. Check this to learn more: https://adobe.ly/4jbQS7x

    • Restart the computer

    Thanks!
