Incorrect date when renaming video files

After adding video files to the catalogue, I like to rename the files starting with the creation date and time. I am using the "rename photos" menu and I add the date that is offered in the format YYMMDD - hms.

The problem is that the date does not equal the created date, it also does not necessarily reflect the import date. To me, it looks really random. In the attached picture you see file name and the actual creation date.

I have already browsed the web, but could not find any answers.

I hope someone can find an answer to this. I am happy for any suggestion. Thank you.

Hi Sebastiank,

We're sorry to hear about the date getting changed upon renaming the video files, could you please try the workaround below and let us know if it helps?

1. Select the video file(s)

2. Go to Metadata >Edit Capture Time

3. Don't change anything else, Just click the "Change" button

Regards,

Sahill

Hi,

I just realized that I do have the same issue. My question is: If i select more than one file in step one, will all selected file get the same date and time? At least, that´s what the dialog design somewhat suggests...
