Question

Incorrect display of metadata after import

Hello everyone, I have had a problem/error with the display of EXIF and IPTC metadata for some time now. When I start LRC, the metadata is displayed completely as usual. As soon as I import new photos from the memory card (CF Express) and convert DNG to the hard disk, the metadata is no longer displayed. This applies to both existing and newly imported photos. When I edit the new photos, this is not displayed (grid view and filmstrip). This also applies to the color mapping. Refreshing by switching on or off (eye symbol) does not work. If Only a restart of LRC is successful. I would have expected this error to be fixed with the new update 14.4. What I noticed is that a metadata conflict is displayed shortly after the import.

Thanks for your support

I was able to get the Metadata back when I restarted LRC 14.4

yes, same - the workaround for now seems to be to restart after every import before you go to edit and organize photos

I can confirm this bug on my end as well, it also seems true that pressing the rating or "reject photo" keys does not update the UI for photos that were part of the import until Lightroom is restarted.   With chosing "reject" there may be a gray background around the rejected image but you don't see the little black flag.  Rating stars are not visible.

The EXIF data also has a little infinite spinner beside it, and clicking on different photos will sometimes show stale EXIF data from a previous photo.

I was able to narrow down the error further. It only occurs if a conversion to DNG takes place during import. If the RAW (f.E. CR2 or CR3 for Canon) are imported without conversion (moving from memory card to hard disk), the error does not occur.
