iPhone HEIF Photo Format and Lightroom (compatibility)

Currently HEIF is needed to shoot certain effects on the iPhone 8 and above. This format is NOT supported by Lightroom yet. Can we get an ETA on when that may arrive? Will it be smart enough to know the setting saved in the file as well and we can tweak them like we can do in Photos on a mac?

I woud really really really like Lightroom CC Classic to support the HEIF/HEIC format. Any updates?

Hi All,

We are happy to announce the release of Lightroom Classic CC 7.4.

This update includes the support for HEIF image files on macOS High Sierra v10.13 or later.

Currently the status is "in progress"

So Adobe is looking into it but there is no timeline they can share right now.
