Question

Issue when exporting a slideshow using crossfade : weird flickering behavior. M2 related?

Hello,
I have a Mac Studio M2 and the latest updated version of LR Classic.

I have a slideshow of 60 images that I want to export. Each image is already exported in JPG < 5 mo (to make sure the issue don't come from the images).

When I play the slideshow inside Lightroom, everything looks perfect (smoth transition). But when I export the slideshow, then, some weird flickering effect happens during some transition (not all). It's like images A start to fade transition to image B, and then, suddenly, A become full opacity during a 1/10 of a second, and then the transition continues as if nothing happend.
It's very subtile, but you noticed it when playing the video.

I first thought it could come from the player.
I have tried to use different video player, always the same issue.

I have done some research on the internet. One guy suggested that it could be the codec used to export the video, and to re-compress the video with QuickTime, or HandBrake. I tried, didn't work.

I have tried to use a different song. Didn't work.

I have deactivated sync to music options. Didn’t work.
I have tried different times for the crossfade transition. Didn’t work.
I have deactivated the pan and zoom option. Didn’t work.

Then I have used a different mac (Intel chip), and then : no issue.
So, I think that comes from the Mac Studio.
In LR Preference>Performance, I have tried to change which GPU was used (there are several options). It didn't fix the problem.

Does anybody with an M2 experiencing the same issue?
Do you have any clue?
That's pretty annoying and frustrating.

HI.
It's more than one and a half years and I still have the same problem.
How do you contact Adobe support?

Release of the V15 and the diaporama flickering problem is still not being taken care of.
The support never answers, or, as an answer, offers to put you as a beta tester of the new release that doesn't treat the problem.
So, to someup, we have a super big company, doing top of the top progress on all AI stuff (and honnestly, it's amazing). But they can't handle a glitch in the basic diaporama export ???????

I have the exact same problem on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 64GB memory. So it cannot be hardware related. I was about to create a post and saw yours.

Does Adobe even look at these threads? Is it better to log aticket with their Support?

Hi. More than a year later, and despite multiple updates, the issue remains unchanged.
Did you find a workaround?
