Issue with Creating Multiple Masks in Lightroom Classic

Hi,

I’m using the latest version of Lightroom Classic on the latest macOS. When I create a mask, it works fine for the first one. However, when I try to create another mask or adjustment using the "+" button, nothing appears on the screen.

I’ve seen suggestions about deleting the Preferences, but that’s not a viable option for me. I have extensive data embedded in my setup, and the process of rebuilding everything would take days.

Adobe, are you aware of this issue? Is a fix being worked on? Does anyone have a reliable workaround? This is causing significant disruption to my workflow, and I’d appreciate any advice or solutions.

Thank you,

Days to rebuild the preference file? I am skeptical.

Make a copy of preference file before you reset it. If this isn't the cause, then you can restore the preference file. If it is a problem with the preference file, I'm afraid you have no choice but to create a new one.

Hey, @David_Levine1535. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Resetting Lightroom Classic won't delete your presets, or profiles. It'll only reset user preferences.

Where do you keep your Lightroom catalog & the original images, internal, or external drive?

As primary steps, try this:

  • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
  • Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
