Question

Issue with Lightroom catalogue when importing

I have been trying to input RAW images into an existing catelogue from an OM1. I can see the import registers the number of images and lists the folders but no images show up.  When I went to the folder on my mac they were ORF extensions but had an "S" for Topaz Sharpen.  I have removed Topaz but it still did it!  Having tried several times without success, I tried to import into a new catelogue.  This worked I could see the images and T Sharpening was nowhere to be seen.  Therefore concluding that there is something wrong with the original catelogue, but what.  I have been into the preferences and can see no link to Topaz Sharpening.  I would prefer to go back to my original catelogue but need to fix this import problem.  Help!!

Hey @Carole Palmer!

Quick question — what version of Lightroom Classic are you currently using, and where is your catalog stored?

If you haven’t already, could you try restoring a backup of your main catalog and see if importing works properly there?

Let me know how it goes — happy to help troubleshoot further!

Cheers,
Alek

Thank you for your response.

I just updated to the latest version of Lightroom yesterday. Doesn’t appear to have made any difference.

I’m nervous about going to a back up copy, I think I am just going to have to stick with the new catalogue.

Hi @Carole Palmer! I'm really sorry to hear the update didn’t help. I’d love to understand more—could you share what’s worrying you about checking a backup?

In the meantime, you might also want to try going to File > Optimize Catalog to see if that helps improve performance.

Let me know how it goes—I’m here to help!
