Issues editing on a HDR monitor
Using lightroom 13.1 develop module for first time in months. Noticed that each photo looks different in the library module vs the develop module. Or if you look at a photo full frame (F) in the develop module, it then looks the same as in the libary module, but different from normal size in the develop module. LR didnt use to do this. Had changed monitors since last time I used LR and after much troubleshooting, realized this is happening because my new monitor is HDR and calibrated using the Windows HDR calibration app.
Did some reading and read that if you turn off "use graphics processor" in LR settings it sometimes fixes it. This fixed it for me. However, turning off the GPU means the HDR button in the LR develop basic panel no longer works. Indeed Adobe writes: "Note: If Use Graphics Processor is set to Off in the Preferences dialog, you can continue to edit HDR photos, but the result will not be displayed correctly within the main image view."😯
HDR displays and LR's HDR capacity are a huge leap forward in picture quality, but not without headaches. I already spent hours trying to figure out whats going on. I love how much better the photos look on a HDR monitor with the LR HDR button enabled and don't want to give this up. My photos will be viewed mostly on my PC HDR monitor or on a HDR TV.
How can I fix this? I.e., I want to edit photos on a HDR monitor with HDR selected in the develop module, and I want the photos to all look the same, whether in library mode, module mode, or full screen module mode. Any help would be much appreciated!
