Job Role For Photographer

Hi Adobe Community,

I have been trying for quite some time to understand where someone with my background can fit within Adobe.

I have 10+ years of hands-on professional photography and post-production experience, mainly in wedding and portrait workflows. During this time, I have:

- Worked hands-on across 200+ weddings

- Edited 200,000+ images

- Worked closely with many professional photographers

- Mentored 100+ photographers through online workshops

- Used Photoshop and Lightroom extensively in real production environments

- Experienced the complete workflow from image selection and culling to RAW processing, retouching, batch editing, quality control, client delivery, and archive

Because I work with these tools every day, I have also identified many workflow pain points that professional photographers face.

I recently developed an independent Lightroom product proposal based on one of those problems.

The project currently has three progressive stages:

V1 — Smart Culling: faster selection of similar/duplicate images, technical-quality review, comparison, and photographer-controlled recommendations.

V2 — Consistency Workflow: improving exposure, white balance, tone, and visual consistency across large photo sets.

V3 — Repair & Retouch Workflow: reducing repetitive retouching work while preserving photographer control and image quality.

The purpose of these concepts is not to claim that I am an AI or software engineer. They come from real photography workflow problems I have experienced for years, and I have tried to translate those problems into structured product ideas.

I recently saw the Director of Product Management, Adobe Lightroom Creative Pro role. A large part of the job description—professional photography workflows, culling, editing, retouching, batch workflows, photographer needs, creative control, and workflow efficiency—closely matches the problems I have worked with throughout my career.

However, I do not come from a traditional software Product Management or engineering background.

So my question to Adobe employees and experienced community members is:

For someone with deep professional photography and Adobe workflow expertise, but without traditional corporate product-management experience, what Adobe roles should I realistically target?

Would roles related to creative workflow research, product insights, creator experience, product testing, Lightroom workflow specialization, or product strategy support be a better entry point?

My long-term goal is simple: I would love to use my ground-level experience as a working photographer to help make Lightroom and Photoshop better for professional creators.

I would genuinely appreciate guidance from anyone familiar with Adobe's product or hiring teams.
