Ich nutze einen iMac, habe Lightroom CC installiert und es bisher nicht geschafft, meinen alten Katalog von Lightroom 5 zu installieren. Was muss ich tun?

Correct answer margit_1008

Yeah, but that is the wrong app to open an old Lightroom 5 catalog.

Mein Problem ist gelöst. Ich habe Lightroom Classic installiert. Der alte Katalog kann jetzt geöffnet werden und ich habe alle Informationen, die ich brauche. Herzlichen Dank.

As @JohanElzenga and @johnrellis  mentioned you have to install Lightroom Classic to open  your old Lightroom catalog.

Sometimes it's possible that problms occur during updating such an old catalog to the recent version. In this case you have to go back to LRC 13. Then open and update your LR5 catalog. After this you can install the recent version of LRC (14.2) and then update the catalog to the recent version.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

"Lightroom CC" is a name that has not been in use anymore for many years. You need to install Lightroom Classic to open and convert an old Lightroom 5 catalog.

While that's generally true, Adobe continues to create confusion by installing Lightroom Desktop in a folder named "Lightroom CC"

/Applications/Adobe Lightroom CC

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom CC
