Question

Keep language preferences on update?

I don't know if maybe I have something saved wrong, but every time I update Lightroom Classic, the language gets reset.

I've been studying Japanese, so I thought I'd try setting Lightroom to Japanese, too. In Windows 10 Lightroom Classic, I went to Edit > Preferences and changed the language to Japanese.

However, every time Creative Cloud Desktop updates Lightroom Classic, the lanuage preference gets reset to English. Is there a way to make it save so I don't have to change it back every time Lighroom has an update?

This has been happening for over a year. I tried providing feedback to Lightroom many times via Help > Provide Feedback..., but nothing has changed. I can't understand why the rest of my preferences are respected, but the language is reset.

In case it's relevant:

* My OS language is set to English. (I haven't taken the plunge there yet.)

* I primarily use two catalouges, and both were created while using Lightroom in English before I started using Lightroom in Japanese.

* At some point moths ago, I set my first language to Japanese in my Preferred Languages under my Adobe account, but this did not have any affect.

Try setting the Default Install Language to Japanese in the Creative Cloud app. That's not the same as the app language setting of the Creative Cloud app or your Adobe account.

I didn't see that as an option before, but that makes sense to me. I've just switched it. I guess now I just wait for a hotfix or another update.

In any case, thanks, Johan!
