+ / - keys stop working in Develop module

When I'm in Develop module I do a long click on Exposure and I see the message "Modify Exposure with + / - Keys" and that works ok... I go through my photos using left / right arrows and tap the +/- keys for any exposure mofications required. But... when I see a photo I was to delete I hit the delete button, select "delete from disk" to close the delete dialog and then the + / - keys no longer work. Even if I do long click on Exposure again and it brings up the message "Modify Exposure with + / - Keys" they still do nothing. I have to click into Library and back into develop module to get them working again.

The same also happens sometimes when I'm going through photos and I do a paste develop settings I lose the + / - function again
