If you have enetered a keyword onto an image by mistake how can you remove it

Just delete it in the Keywords panel, or uncheck the checkmark in the Keywords list. Do not use Bridge, because that will not carry over to Lightroom Classic (unless you use 'Read Metadata from Files', but that may delete your edits if these were not saved to files earlier!).
