Question

Leica M11-P tether support?

Hello,

I am experiencing a serious issue with tethered shooting in Lightroom Classic.

I am using a Leica M11-P, connected via USB-C (10 Gbps) to a MacBook Pro.
Tethering works perfectly in Lightroom Classic with my Sony A7S III, but does not work at all with the Leica, despite following all troubleshooting steps recommended by Adobe.

To be very clear:

  • The camera is fully recognized by the system
  • USB cable and ports are not the issue
  • Lrc crash after deconecting the USB-C cable
  • Message on my Leica : Active connection sharing. but not connected
  • Tethering works flawlessly with Capture One, both on macOS and on iPad

This clearly indicates a Lightroom / Adobe compatibility or support limitation, not a hardware problem.

At this point, I would like a clear and official answer from Adobe:

  • Is the Leica M11 / M11-P officially supported for tethering in Lightroom Classic?
  • If not, is this planned, and on what timeline?
  • If yes, what concrete solution does Adobe propose?

Tethered shooting is a critical professional feature, and the fact that it works immediately with a competing software but not with Lightroom is extremely frustrating.

I have been an Adobe subscriber for years, but this situation is pushing me very close to switching permanently to a competitor if no reliable solution or roadmap is provided.

Thank you in advance for a transparent and actionable response.

"Is the Leica M11 / M11-P officially supported for tethering in Lightroom Classic?"

Support was added in LR Classic 15.1:

As Rikk Flohr indicated, do the menu command Help > System Info. If you don't have LR 15.1 (the latest version), then do Help > Updates to upgrade.

Please go to Help>System Info… and provide us with your software's installed version number.
