Lens Correction List Changing Preferred Lens Tick

Hi,

Can anyone help??

When editing images that have been taken with my Sigma 150-600 lens and I use the lens correction tool in Lightroom Classic I am always confronted with a tick marker against a different Sigma lens.  I then have to scroll down to find the lens I am using.  As I only have one Sigma lens I find this extremely frustrating especially when trying to process large numbers of images.

Does anyone know how I can alter my preferred lens in the list, please?

Choose the lens profile that you want for a sample photo.

The profile selection menu changes to show "Custom".

Click on this and choose the option below. Hereafter - whenever any other photos are encountered that have got the same lens identification code attached (by the camera), this other chosen profile will get used by default.

Note: what should be in your LrC import settings / in any preset that later switches on lens profiled corrections, is "Default" selection in this menu.

"Custom" would force a fixed selection regardless of what lens had been used. "Auto" uses only built-in lens assignments - or when none found, gives up. "Default" first pays attention to any user-chosen assignments, and then if none found falls back to "Auto", and only then - if none found - gives up.

Just to explain, Sigma is known for sometimes reporting a non-unique lens identification code, which the camera body then in good faith attaches to the photos. So LrC cannot know which of several lens possibilities has actually been used. Setting a user default assignment merely changes which particular one is going to then be presumed by LrC at import.
