Question

Lens Correction on SIgma ART lenses with Sony camera

Hello - i use a few Sigma ART lenses (DG DN) on my Sony body (A7.4).

Even though LR identifies the lenses properly in the Lens Correction panel, I am given 2 options/profiles for each lens. One is suffixed SONY and the other SIGMA.

I do not understand why there are 2, and why it picks the SONY profile, which happens to not be the best. I prefer the SIGMA profil, which corrects the distortion better. On portrait shots, it is obvious.

So my questions are :

- why are there 2 profiles? what do they match to?

- how could I default to the SIGMA one (my prefered), so I dont have to change it each time?

Wondering if someone has observed the same behavior ? I have updated LR to its latest release...

thanks for your help !!

Dan

In the lens profile panel is a Setup option. Select your Sigma profile, then from Setup choose 'Save New Lens Profile Defaults'. Now when you go import images with this lens, the Sigma profile will be selected by default. Something in the metadata means that Lightroom is ready the lens information and not being sure which of the lens is best. I get this with one of my own lenses and post is a reminder that I can fix it for myself.
