Lens Profles

Is there a way to reduce the number of lens profiles in the dropdown lists?

I have four Tamron lenses.  When I apply the lens profile it doesn't always automatically select the correct lense, so I have to scroll through the list to find the lens I'm looking for.  There are a lot of Tamron lenses so it can take 20 seconds or more to find the lens I'm looking for.

I've found where the lens profiles live on the C drive (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\Tamron).  I've tried removing all but the four lenses I have.  But when I do this and try to set a lens profile in Lightroom, it gives an error that says unable to set lens profile.

Does anyone know if there is a way to limit the available of lenses that will work?

Thanks!

You have a very specific need & there are other ways you can try to figure this out. I'll help you with this.

One of the ways you can do this is by creating develop presets that only include Lens Correction using one of the four you need. Create 4 of these presets & keep them in your favorites.

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

An interesting thought @Sameer K, but I am not sure this will work. AFAIK, you cannot specify a specific lens profile in a preset. You can only enable automatic lens profile corrections, but that is exactly the problem. If Lightroom does not recognize the lens for some reason, then I think such a preset won't work either. I never tried to create a 'non automatic lens profile preset' however.

I have several presets for third party lenses used with a Fuji GFX 50S with dumb adapters, and they work without issues.

Although I do use LensTagger to add EXIF metadata, like the name of the lens to the images, this is not required for the preset to work. The only requirement is that Adobe has supplied a profile for the lens.

If no profile exists, it is even possible to create a preset with a profile for a different lens, and apply that, if it seems to be suitable.
