Lighroom Classic Develop mode slow switching between photos - SOLVED!

Question

So, not a question as such, but after months of slow switching between photos on my top-of-the-line Macbook M5 w 32GB RAM & 2TB SSD HDD (it could take 20 seconds waiting for the next photo to show, using keyboard arrows), I have finally solved this extremely annoying issue.
I have all files stored locally on my HDD, backing up to Dropbox.
I pause Dropbox sync before opening LR.
Lightning fast switching in Dev mode :-)

I assume it’s the same for OneDrive; pause sync while working. Resume sync after finished your work in LR.

Thanks for posting your experience. Pausing (or better, disabling) the sync with a cloud service is one of the magic spells that’s helped some (but not all) people experiencing sluggish switching to the next photo:

Note that there may be other bad symptoms that could occur syncing catalog folders with cloud services, even if you pause sync while running LR.
