Question

Lightroom 12.1 not importing Canon EOS Rebel T6 CR2. files

Hello! I have an Adobe Photography Plan and my Lightroom Classic is not importing my CR2 files, it keeps failing. I need to transform the files into DNG/dng files in order for the LrC to import it without problems. Could it be because my camera is too old so it's compatible? I know that what I have is a very old lady 😄 but it's what I have at the moment - and in case of it being because of the camera, is there any Plugins that I can install to convert the files? I'm able to open the CR2 files on my Photoshop/Camera Raw, so it's what I've been doing in order to convert the files so I can edit it on Lightroom, but it's kind of annoying. I already checked if my Adobe is updated, and it is saying that everything is up to date, so I wanted to check if is something that I'm doing wrong or something that I need to do. Thank you in advance!

"Some import operations were not performed." & "An unknown error occurred"

If the above does not help

1. Those 300 photos, do they have the default file names created by the camera, or did you alter that? Perhaps adding _ or another special character before them?

2. Did you recently change your anti virus?

Hello! Thank you for your help!

I did some tests with the file names and where I get them from. I was able to import all the images directly from my SD Card to LrC with and without changing the file's names, and it worked! I tried importing directly from my Desktop and also from my External Drive both ways and it worked too!

So I'll just edit the images first anf later on change it when exporting from LcR.

Thanks again!

So I will refrain from altering the name of the files from now on, and only change it when I export it from Lightroom.

It seems to be supported if that's the right T6. And that the DNG converter converts them, it appears your version of Lightroom Classic should so what's the problem when you try importing them?

Are you saving the raws to the desktop first, importing from a card?

In System Preferences ((System Settings in Ventura), >Security & Privacy, >Full Disk Access, do you see Lightroom listed? If not, do add it and try again.

Hello! Thank you so much for your help - and sorry for taking so long to reply.

My Lightroom wasn't listed on the Accessibility and on the Full Disk Access folder, so I added it to both and selected it, relaunching the LcR. But unfortunately it didn't work.

But with your information and what GoldingD added too, I did some tests with the file names and where I get them from. I was able to import all the images directly from my SD Card to LrC with and without changing the file's names, and it worked! I tried importing directly from my Desktop and also for my External Drive both ways and it worked too!

So I will refrain from altering the name of the files from now on, and only change it when I export it from Lightroom.

Thank you again for all the help! The Full Disk Access could be a problem in the future and now it won't be since you helped me to fix it. Have a great day!
