Lightroom 12 Slow Export in M1

After I updated to Lightroom 12, I noticed that exporting photos is now very slow on my M1 Air, unlike on the previous version. Do you also experience this? Exporting 100 photos (raw) now takes 10 minutes, previously , it only takes 2-3 minutes.

You've mentioned that export is now slower than in 11.x. This can be for two reasons:

(i) LrC 12 checks for 16GB of memory on Apple M1/M2 sytems before enabling full GPU acceleration. With less memory it will drop back to limited acceleration (i.e. GPU accelerated export is disabled).

(ii) The GPU self check when launching LrC has detected an issue and disbled all or part of GPU acceleration. This is not unusual after an update.

For (i), you can manually force full acceleration by choosing 'Custom' and ticking the 'Use GPU for Export' checkbox as shown in below screenshot.

For (ii) above you will need to use 'Finder' to navigate to the following location  then delete the contents of the folder. LrC will recreate same when it relaunches. All being well, you will have Full GPU support again

'Users > yourname > Library > Application Support > Adobe > CameraRaw > GPU > Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic'
