Question

Lightroom 4 starting issues with MacOS High Sierra

I was excited with the MacOS upgrade to High Sierra but little I realised that it messed up my LR4 completely.

First it launched well but when I connected my camera to import photos, it crashed. It repeatedly happened and I realised that there must be a glitch. Mine is the 4.4.1 version. I do realise that I have lost some of my last uploaded images which I had already worked on.

I'd need full assistance in this as buying another version is completely out of my reach now.

Thank you

I'm getting the same issue when I connect my camera.  With the camera not connected, Lightroom 4 seems to run ok.

Apple Photos is able to run with the camera connected and import the images.  I can then import the photos from Photos to Lightroom 4.  Annoying workflow.

I realize you need full assistance, but given the fact that LR 6 and High Sierra aren't getting along, you need the most recent version of LR 6 and even in that version there some features aren't working right, I doubt LR 4 and High Sierra are going to work well. But I don't know anyone who has advice for LR 4 and High Sierra at this time; and Adobe isn't going to update LR 4. So I think you are stuck in a bad place, and the best possibility I can think of is to downgrade your operating system to (regular) Sierra, if that is possible.

Thank you. Will wait and see what would the latest update from Adobe be like. Thanks again

As I said, Adobe is not going to update LR 4. Waiting for that is not a strategy.
