What does it mean when Adobe says that "Lightroom 6, Lightroom 5 and Lightroom 4 are no longer officially supported products."

    Hi there,

What does it mean when Adobe says that "Lightroom 6, Lightroom 5 and Lightroom 4 are no longer officially supported products."

When a product's life cycle comes to an end, it becomes an End of Life product, and it is no longer supported officially. Which means that there will be no future updates released for that product.

Assisted Support via chat or phone is no longer applicable for an EOL (End of Life) product. Please check this article to know more: Adobe software end-of-life procedure

However, an End of Life product user can still reach out to us at https://forums.adobe.com/welcome , as we're here to help.

It means they will not get any more updates and you can't get any help directly from Adobe for these pieces of software.

No, Lightroom 5.7.1 is not free just because it has been superseded by later versions.

Adobe always retains ownership of the software and its IP. When you buy it, you buy a license to use it. Licenses for 5.7.1 are no longer being sold. So, unfortunately in your case, Lightroom 5.7.1 is not an option.
