Lightroom 5 [Classic]

I have Lightroom 5, It has just recently started coming up with preiw unavailable for this file when I go to import photos. It is up to date. I downloaded the free trail for Lightroom CC now I can import. But surely I do not have to purchase this to be able to use my old version

I have been using this camera with lightroom 5 for sometime and it has only just startedI don't know what to tell you then. According to the published list from Adobe you should need Lightroom 6 .0.

Import from what camera? RAW or JPG?Can you import in LR5 even though you get the message that the preview is unavailable?
