Hi, I am using Lightroom 5.7.1 and it does not recognise the raw files from my Canon 5D Mark IV. I have searched for updates and there are none yet.

Thanks 99jon. And LR6 is still being updated by Adobe? Or more importantly compatible with Canon 5D Mark IV?

Yes it is still being updated for new cameras and lenses and is compatible with the 5DmkIV but only the CC version gets new features like the dehaze tool, selected adjustments and guided upright in the new Transform Panel.

You may be interested in the Photography Plan at the same link. No capital outlay; for a modest monthly subscription you can always be up to date. You also get Photoshop CC, Bridge CC, Lightroom Mobile for Android & iOS, and LR Mobile Webspace.

All updates for Lightroom 5 stopped after Lightroom 6 was released about a year and a half ago. The first version of Lightroom to support the Canon 5D Mk IV is Lightroom 6.7, released two months ago.

If you don't want to upgrade to Lightroom 6, you can convert 5D Mk IV files to DNG raw files using the free DNG Converter. Lightroom 5 can read those DNG files.

Thanks Conrad, will try the DNG Converter.

To get Lightroom 6, I will need the Creative Cloud subscription right?

You can still buy the stand-alone version of LR6. Go to the link below and click the buy button where you will get the option to change from Full to Upgrade price.
