Lightroom 6.7 CC Alt key masking tool not working

Question

I am using window 7 64 bit. This function worked up until last week but today it has stopped. I have not updated or changed any setting. I have read the previous discussions and followed suggestions offered. When I hold down the Alt key and move the sharpening slider the image turn to greyscale not the typical all black and and white masking screen.

I have removed all my preferences

Restarted Lightroom and computer.

Alt key is working for other shortcuts.

If anyone has had this issue and resolved please assist.

So this is normal behavior.
