Question

Lightroom 6 and Windows 10

Hi everybody

I am new to this forum.
I have an Imac running with  Lightroom 6 (originally got 5 and bought a standalone update) but I will be traveling and got myself an Asus Zenbook running with Window 10.

When I try install, Adobe asks my Serial number and then I have an error message saying that my serial number is accurate but no eligible product has been found on my computer. It adds that if I want to use this serial number I need to have a compatible product installed on the laptop. I then have a dropdown menu where I can choose from Lightroom 1 to 5 and a blank cell to fill the serial number.

The support tells me it is just because Lightroom 6 is not compatible with Windows 10.
But is it because I first bought a Lightroom 5?

Is there a way to use my standalone licence?

THanks a loft for your help!

Sara

Make sure that you keep that LR6 install file(s) should you ever have to reinstall again. Adobe is higly likely to remove easy access to the install files on the web.

I think support gave you wrong information, LR6 should work with Windows 10.

Since this is an upgrade from LR5, the installer is asking you for the serial number from a qualifying product, LR5.

So just enter the serial number for LR5, and you should be good to go.

If you can't find the number, do a search on your Mac for a file named Lightroom 5.0 Registration.lrreg

Open this file in a text editor, and you will find the serial number.

Edit: You can find it at

/Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Lightroom 5.0 Registration

I take it you never created an account and registered your applications with Adobe?
