Lightroom 6 keeps crashing on macos High Sierra
The issue:
- every time I open Lightroom it crashes - it doesn't even get past the splash screen
How I've tried to fix it:
- held shift/option and tried opening with no preferences running (doesn't work)
- deleted the file Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist (doesn't work)
- deleted the app: Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Lightroom/Uninstall Adobe Lightroom - downloaded the most recent .dmg from Adobe - reinstalled it (this DOES work, but only for a short while before it goes back to crashing again)
- in the brief period after the reinstall, when I can open LR, I've:
- unset the 'Use Graphics Processor' check box (doesn't make any difference)
- opened a new, empty catalogue (doesn't make any difference)
I have the following:
- Lightroom v6.0
- macos High Sierra 10.13.1 (17B1003)
- hi-spec macbookpro
Any advice much appreciated - before I look at Luminar and ON1 as more reliable alternatives (and yes Luminar is about to include asset management so I wonder if it's more stable than LR)
