Question

Lightroom 6 not importing NEF files from Nikon D3400

I am fairly new to photography and Lightroom. I have a Nikon D3400. Today I shot in RAW for the first time ever. I tried to import in Lightroom 6 (it is a stand-alone version, not a subscription), and it says the format is not supported. Yikes! What do I do? Is there an update that I missed or something?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The D3400 was first supported in Lightroom 6.7

So you'll have to update to 6.7 but I'm not sure where that update would be in these days of Adobe removing public download links.

Oh thank you! I wonder if that means that my only choice is to purchase the subscription license? I am unable to find a stand-alone update for perpetual license 6. 😞

I was able to figure out the Adobe DNG converter last night. I am thinking I will either have to deal with that for now, or else purchase the subscription plan to Lightroom Classic... 😕😕

Hi,

The last update released for Lightroom 6 was version 6.14. If you purchased the application version through our website and have your serial number registered with your Adobe ID, you can check the steps mentioned in the link below to access the installation file for the update.

Note: You may need to uninstall the version currently installed to install the updated version through the installer you download using the steps mentioned in the above link.

Regards,
