Lightroom 6 rebranded as Lightroom CC after update

I have purchased and installed Lightroom 6 as a standalone app. The about box and splash screen both showed Lightroom 6.0.

After searching and applying the latest updates, the about box and the splash screen now both show Lightroom CC 2015.10.1.

So what version do I have and how can I revert the branding back to Lightroom 6.x?

Well, regarding

"You are likely seeing a 7-day trial of the Creative Cloud features. If you've properly entered your serial number, it will revert to version 6.10.1 at the end of the trial."

A month has passed, but nothing has changed. It is still branded as Lightroom Creative Cloud 2015.12

Hi. I read this thread and I have exactly the same problem.

Just yesterday I finally upgraded my LR4 to LR6 (standalone version). I gave up waiting for LR7 because the Map module in LR4 stopped working completely a couple of days ago. Well...

Anyway, according to instructions I downloaded LR6 and installed it using the SN provided by Adobe and converted the LR4 catalog (I still keep LR4 installed on the same computer, it is a PC machine running Windows 7). After verifying that I can access all my photos, edits, presets etc. from my older Lightroom I initiated the update since the version installed was LR 6.0 (I knew that the most recent version was LR 6.12). I remember very well that during the download of the update it said somewhere that I was downloading a CC 2015.12 / LR 6.12 update, so obviously the update intended for both the CC and the standalone version of the software.

After the update and computer reset my Lightroom came up as CC 2015.12. It says so during the start-up sequence and also in the upper left corner of the window. Plus in the file menu it shows access to the mobile application which AFAIK should be available only in  CC version and not in the standalone one. Under "About ..." it also says I have CC 2015.12 installed.

I wanted to uninstall everything and start again, maybe I messed up something. But under "Program and Applications" where the uninstall is supposed to be done in Win7 the software shows up as Lightroom 6.0! (the older Lightroom 4.4 is shown separately as it should be since I didn't touch it). After that I gave up, it was late at night. Now I see this seems to be a common problem. I will try what was suggested at the top of this thread, but I am doubtful that it will work. I have never had a CC installed, not even a trial version, nor do I want it.

Were you able to get this working right?  I had the same issues installing Lightroom 6 on my Mac.  Initial install was showing as Lightroom 6.  Downloaded the 6.12 updater from the Adobe site and it became Lightroom CC 2015.12.  Signed in with my Adobe ID and noticed that Lightroom still said CC 2015.12 along with the dehazing feature in Develop mode.  However, after closing out of the app and reopening, it now shows as Lightroom 6 minus the dehazing feature (as one would expect with LR6).  Very confusing and I think Adobe should just let the perpetual license products stand alone without needing to sign in with an Adobe ID.

If you sign out of Lightroom CC, and then sign back in and apply your serial number for LR 6, you will have LR 6.

How to convert a Lightroom CC trial to Lightroom 6

Yes, I was aware of this KB article. Tried it. Still branded as Lightroom CC 2015.10.1.

If you entered your serial number properly, it should say Lightroom 6, so I think you must have done something wrong.
