Lightroom 6 to new laptop with windows 10 does not work

Lightroom 6 to new laptop with windows 10 does not work.

I have it on my old laptop and want to bring it to our new one. Adobe says after dowload lightroom 6 that the serial is ok but I have to take one out of the list to verify it. The list only shows lightroom 1 to 5 and not 6.

So i cant verify it, because I dont have lightroom in version 1 to 5 with serial number.

Has anyone an idea hoe to get the lightrrom 6 to my new laptop?

    This means that your Lr 6 license is an upgrade from a previous version, and you need to enter the serial number for the version you upgraded from. 

    If you still have access to your old computer, you might be able to retrieve the serial number from a previous version.

    With the File explorer, go to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom.

    Look for a file named Lightroom X.0 Registration.lrreg, where X will be a number between 1 and 5, depending on the version number. Open the file in a plain text editor like Notepad, and you will find the serial number.
