Lightroom 6 will not launch on mac laptop

Hi all,

I have been using the Lightroom 6 app on my mac laptop for the past few years without any issues. Tried to launch the app recently but am unable to do so now? It only stayed on the start-up page and does not launch. App was working fine 2-3 weeks ago. Any ideas how to fix this?

1. Try resetting LR's preferences:https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help. 2. Hold down Opt while you start LR and try creating a new test catalog.  Can you import photos into that test catalog? If neither of those help, then if you're on Mac OS 10.15 or later, don't try resinstalling or upgrading to the last version of LR 6 (6.14).  The LR 6 installer won't run on any version of Mac OS that's 10.15 or later (the installer is 32-bit, which is no longer supported on Mac OS).
