LIGHTROOM 6 WON'T START ON WINDOWS 7

I bought Lightroom 6 upgrade a couple of years ago, and my computer never updates Windows because I don't want it to slow down and become useless. However, Lightroom is now unable to start properly. I click on it, and the splash opens and a wheel just keeps spinning, but it never opens. How can I get lightroom to open normally without updating windows?
Thanks,

Kenneth P.

... my computer never updates Windows because ...

IMHO .. a very, very bad idea regarding security if you also connect to the net with this PC.

I do have Windows 7 SP1, do you? This is required: System requirements for Photoshop Lightroom for Mac and Windows OS

Anyhow, if you are sure that nothing (no other software installed ...) has changed on your system, try to reset the preferences: Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6
