Lightroom 7.3 suddenly crashes after editing more than a few photos

I'm running LR desktop 7.3 and Mac OS 10.13.3 on a 2016 macbook pro. LR has run fine for over a year until the past two months.

Lightroom is the only program that both (1) quits out of the blue and, other times, (2) causes a hard restart on my computer. It happens whenever I'm editing more than a couple pictures.

I've tried :

- updating to LR 7.3

- turning off the graphics processor

- unplugging all external devices.

- restoring LR to default settings.

Again: LR worked for about a year without a flaw. Suddenly it's crashing all the time and sometimes causing a hard restart. Again, the only time my mac does this is with LR. I've run mac diagnostics and nothing is abnormal.

Thanks.

The fact remains true that hard crashes are hardware or driver related. Lightroom (and any other software application) cannot cause a hard crash in the absence of hardware or driver problems.

Mac just released a new OS X. I'm downloading it now. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your replies.

Hard restart is always either a bad/corrupted/out-of-date video driver, or a hardware malfunction. It doesn't matter that other programs aren't having these programs, Lightroom uses the drivers and hardware in ways that other programs might not.

You need to re-install the latest video driver; and also run diagnostics on all your hardware, and make sure the fans in the computer case are working properly.

Thanks for the reply. As noted in my initial post, I've run mac diagnostics and nothing is abnormal including with the fan.

As for video drivers, the in OS X the only way to update graphics drivers is to update the entire OS. My operating system is the current version.
