Lightroom 7.4 Crashes on Photo Import

I am having a heck of time getting Lightroom Classic 7.4 to work for me.  I have another thread about 7.4 crashing on my Mac on opening.  I have since upgraded to a 2018 MacBook Pro and migrated over to the new computer.  I have set up a new empty test catalog on the new computer for testing purposes.  Now 7.4 crashes when I try to import a single picture from my desktop into the test catalog.  I am on Mac OS 10.13.6.  Does anyone have any idea what may be going on?

I have downgraded to 7.3.1 and I have no problems and the photo imports fine in the earlier version of LR.

    Hi Matheww,

    We're sorry to hear about Lightroom crashing on import, I believe the issue is with the permissions. When you update Lightroom the permissions are getting corrupted.

    I have the same problem from 7.4 but with windows 10. Solutions? Even with the update to 7.5 the problem has not been solved.

    Hi EmanueleSandon,

    Are you still facing the above issue? Could you please update Lightroom to 8.0 version via Creative Cloud Desktop app and check if that helps.

    Thanks for your suggestion, but the problem reappears. In particular when the program is already open. If you import the image when start it's almost always ok.
