Lightroom 8.1 - Why doesn't my exported jpg file include DNG edits?

I have exported a jpg file from a color DNG. It does not include the changes I've made to the DNG, including conversion to B&W and a square crop. When I look in the JPG folder in the LR catalog, it appears as the unedited original DNG. When I look in the same folder on my hard drive it appears as the with the edits I made. However, when I attach this file to an email it appears as without the edits. I've been using LR for years and this hasn't happened before. Please help if you understand what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.

Phil

Lets see if we are on the same page

    PART A

    1) In Lightroom you have a DNG file

    2) In Lightroom you edit that DNG file to get a black and white look

    3) In Lightroom you select Export, not Export with Previous

    4) In the Export dialog, at the bottom, you do not have it do anything Post Process.

    5) In Lightroom you have a folder for your JPEG images

    6) And in the Export dialog that is where you told Lightroom to export to

    7) You went and exported the image. Lightroom created the JPEG, Lightroom placed it in the correct folder.

    PART B

    8) In Lightroom, you select the new JPEG and it is not black and white

    PART C

    9) Outside of Lightroom, in Finder (or File Explorer, what OS by the way) you open the new JPEG and it is in Black and White.

    PART D

    10) You send the image via e-mail (apparently to yourself??) and it does not appear as black and white.

Yes, summary correct David G. I am not sure what changed since yesterday but when I tried to attach the file now it appears as it should, an edited B&W jpg. Thank you all for your help.

This is interesting by the way. You are not adding the exported jpegs back to the Lightroom catalog in the dialog above so they should not show up at all in Lightroom. You should only see them in explorer.

Please post a screen shot of the export dialog window and try to show the complete window.

I can't duplicate your results so it must be something you are doing or something in/on your system that is causing it.

Can you also share the resulting jpeg file? The settings you show should result in a jpeg that looks identical to what you see in Lightroom - i.e. black and white.

In Lightroom, right click on the JPEG, then select to view in folder, make sure you are looking at the correct folder when outside of lightroom
