Lightroom 9 SD import issue

Please can you suggest how to fix this? I have LR Classic 6 and 9 running on the same Mac. Inserting a SD card can open LR6 and the import dialog just fine.  Inserting a SD card with LR9 only opens the application but the import dialog does not start.  the settings are correct in the preferences and I have tried disabling and enabling this function.

 

Any ideas?

The auto open inport dialog is a associated with importing from devices. However, Lightroom Classic on Mac (possibly also Windows) no longer treats an SD or CF card as a device Lr Classic update 8.3 - May 2019). As such, the import dialog not opening when an SD card is inserted is expected behaviour.
