lightroom adjustment bug

First of all how are you changing edits?
You are not touching sliders so I guess you are using -/+ to edit the the parameter (likely this)

In any case seems simply the photo was not ready.
 

1. You navigate to a photo (photo has Exposure + 1.56)

2. Immediately started to edit it and bump exposure, bezel appears.

LrC reverts to the table of edits when you just “opened” the photo.


You can likely solve this by waiting a few tenths of second before you start editing.

This will give UI time to be fully drawn, edits be loaded, preview rendered.

I have also been using Lightroom for 14 years, but since version 15.4.1, I have been experiencing several issues with features that had previously been working properly.

My equipment and system are as follows:

• Fujifilm GFX100S II

• Canon EOS R3

• MacBook Pro M1 Max, 64 GB RAM

Here are the issues I am currently experiencing:

1. Develop settings reverting to previous or default values
   As mentioned earlier, the adjustment settings I have applied sometimes unexpectedly revert to their original or default values, either during editing or afterward.

2. Tethering problems with Canon cameras
   When using my Canon EOS R3 for tethered shooting, I experience several problems that did not occur in previous versions of Lightroom.

3. AF control conflict between Lightroom and the camera
   When I control AF from the laptop, AF does not work properly on the camera itself. This creates a conflict between AF control from Lightroom and AF operation on the camera.

4. RAW files being saved as JPEG files during tethered shooting
   During tethered shooting, some files that should be saved as RAW are instead saved as if they were JPEG files.

   In some cases, the file has a .CR extension, but its actual file size is identical to the corresponding JPEG file. Lightroom also recognizes these files as JPEGs rather than normal RAW files.

What is particularly frustrating is that new problems seem to appear with every Lightroom update.

Because of these issues, I have currently had to downgrade Lightroom to version 15.3.1. With version 15.3.1, these problems do not occur in my workflow, and Lightroom is relatively stable.

I have been using Lightroom professionally for 14 years, so I am very familiar with its normal behavior and workflow. These issues did not occur in my previous working environment. They started appearing after updating to the newer versions of Lightroom.

Sometimes when you work with external hd or internal sata discs, the xmp-files does not get updated. It's simply too slow. I then go to the library tab, click the thumbnail view, mark all, right click and choose metadata -> save metadata to files. It takes an eternity but that fixed that problem for me. 

I have created two smart galleries that detects when the catalog and hd is out of sync. It happens often. First time I did this I had 14000+ images out of sync. They all exhibited strange behaviours after editing. Usually the exclamation mark in the thumbnail down in the time line indicates a sync problem, but far from always. 

And while syncing, I recommend not editing. It will create further stress towards the disc, which is the why the problems show up in the first place...
