Lightroom.adobe.com not working after moving catalogue files on harddrive

I'm using Lightroom Classic 14.5.1.

I recently moved catalogue files on my harddrive.  As of now, they are all back in their original location, and everything seems to work fine in my LrC desktop client.  As soon as I try to go to my synced, public collections on the web though, they show as empty (even though they are showing the correct images in my desktop client).  If others try to access the same collections, they get a notification that those collections are private (even though they're showing as set to public in the desktop client).  If I try to go to lightroom.adobe.com, I get an error message saying "We're sorry, but an unexpected error ocurred."

Searching around, the source of the issues seemed to point to the The MobileDownloads.lrdata file.  That is back in its original location, too, but still no luck on the web side of things.

I have a lot of online collections distributed and would really like to get these back to regular working order without having to recreate everything -- which I don't even think I could right now, as new collections that I am creating and making public also have the same issues as described above. Help?

Hi @SuzanneB832! Thank you for reaching out! I can understand how frustrating it is to lose your collections over something seemingly trivial. When you moved your Catalog, the unique identifier that links your desktop catalog to the cloud was likely broken or confused. The cloud server no longer recognizes your local Catalog as the authoritative source.

You'd need to rebuild your sync data to get this working again. Here's how you do that:

1) Before you do anything, it's crucial to back up your Lightroom catalog. First, you should optimize your Catalog by going to the File menu > Optimize Catalog. Then, create a backup of your Catalog by following the steps in this part of this HelpX article: How to back up a Catalog in Lightroom Classic

2) Pause Syncing in Lightroom Classic: Click the cloud icon in the top-right corner of LrC and click the "Pause Syncing" button. Then, completely quit Lightroom Classic.

3) Now, rename the Sync.lrdata folder to Sync.lrdata.old. You can find the exact location by going to the Lightroom Classic menu, selecting Catalog Settings, and then clicking the Show button. You may need to show hidden files if you don't see the folder. To do this, press Shift-Command-Period (.) in Finder. You can also check out this community thread here for more information: https://adobe.ly/3I1A71K

3) Relaunch Lightroom Classic: When LrC starts, it will see that Sync.lrdata is missing and will automatically create a new one.

4) Resume Syncing. Click the cloud icon again and resume syncing. This will trigger a complete reconciliation process. Be patient, as this can take a while

Hope this Helps!
