Lightroom and lightroom classic sync

Hi, for some time now I’ve been editing my photos only in the Lightroom app on macOS, and I took a break from using Lightroom Classic. Yesterday I decided to go back to Classic, but the photos I edited in the Lightroom app won’t work in the Classic version. When I try to import them, the preview is unavailable, and if I try to drag the photos into the program or import them, I get an error.

Just to add, I have all the latest updates installed, the photos are stored on an external drive, and they’re saved as local files, not in the cloud.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and knows how to fix it?

Before I tried doing anything else, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Now everything works, so thank you for trying to help, but fortunately there were no major issues...

"When I try to import them......". If 'Lightroom-Classic'  is set to sync there should be no reason to Import anything.

The Sync will automatically download images imported to 'Lightroom', save them in a local folder, and add them to the LrC Catalog.

Maybe you are seeing greyed out previews in the import dialog because LrC believes you are importing duplicates of photos that already exist in the catalog (exist because of the automatic sync download).

Note: I am also personally confused by the complications of using both Lightroom and Lightroom-Classic in the one computer.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

I had tried doing that earlier as well, but it didn’t help either.

Maybe these links still work, maybe they don't. I have no need to try it, but you do. So please try it.

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the trouble!

Please go to the Help menu in Lightroom Classic, then System info and copy the text. You can share the info with us by either pasting it as a reply here or in a text file and sharing the file with us.

What is the error you're getting when trying to import the images using drag and drop?

Thanks,
Nikunj
